Michael Goldfarb is an independent strategic and crisis communications consultant, advising and supporting clients navigating reputational risk and public relations challenges. Until July 2021, Michael served as the communications director for the US section of the international medical humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). He joinedMSF in 2005 and played an instrumental role in preserving and expanding MSF’s ability to carry out life-saving medical assistance, and in drawing international attention and response to the most challenging humanitarian crises. He has worked in Afghanistan, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo,Haiti, Iraq, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Niger, the Palestinian Territories, SouthSudan, Uganda, and Yemen, in settings ranging from active conflict zones to natural disasters and refugee camps, and in contexts including mass population displacement, epidemics and other medical emergencies.
