Murphy Poindexter has extensive experience in both start-ups and the finance world, with particular expertise in structuring and innovation. His multi-faceted career has spanned a diverse array of industries in both the U.S. and Japan, including renewable energy, structuring, and music and concerts. After spending ten years abroad focused on the private sector and investments, Murphy recently moved back to Appalachia and Washington D.C. where he worked on several projects in the social impact and private-public partnership space.
Murphy has founded and launched several of his own companies and has worked on multiple other startups in a management capacity. Most recently, he worked on innovation in Appalachia, placing 350jobs in West Virginia with Intuit.
While having no background in Ukraine, a friend’s call during the first week of the war led to early volunteer work supporting Ukraine via fundraising and logistics support in Washington. The overwhelming need that was clearly seen during early volunteer work led to focusing on how to build something more, and, ultimately to introductions with the other BlueCheck co-founders.
